Explanation
Review: There is/are; on, in, under, at; colours; ’s; my, your, his, her, our, their; this/that, these/those; but. Finding the odd one out: “ruler, sharpener, marker, geography” – geography is a subject, the others are school things. Writing a rhyming poem: the last words end with a similar sound. Our own poem: “My bag is blue, my pen is too, / my ruler is green, the best I’ve seen.” At the end we check ourselves: “I can describe a classroom. I can say whose things they are.”
Worked examples
Odd one out: desk, chair, shelf, banana. Answer: banana (food). Odd one out: red, green, Monday, blue. Answer: Monday (a day, not a colour).
My desk is brown, my chair is too. / Under my chair there is a shoe. / On the wall there is a map, / and on my desk there is a cap.
