Stormy weather

Textbook: p. 76
GoalStormy weather: hail, duststorm, snowstorm, thunderstorm; saying feelings with feel.
New words
hail · do‘lthunderstorm · momaqaldiroqduststorm · chang-to‘zonfeel · his qilmoq
Explanation

Storms: hail, hailstone, hailstorm, duststorm, snowstorm, thunderstorm. We say feelings with feel: “I am happy” = “I feel happy”. “I feel sad / angry / hot / warm / cold.” Reason: “Aziza feels happy because she likes snow.” “I feel angry because the weather is bad.” Safety: in a thunderstorm we stay indoors, we don’t stand under tall trees or walk in open fields, and we follow the instructions of adults.

Worked examples
There is a thunderstorm today. The sky is dark and the wind is strong. I feel afraid, so I stay at home with my family and watch from the window.
My sister feels happy when it snows because she likes snowballs. My brother feels sad because he can’t play football.
Class activity
