My family is ...
Textbook: p. 21
GoalDescribe a family and ask questions with does.
New words
sister · opa-singilfather · otasmall · kichkina, kichiknice · yaxshi, yoqimli
Explanation
We describe a family: “There are four people in my family.” For each member: “My aunt is short and plump. Her eyes are green.” Question: “How many cousins does Timur have?” (does + he/she/it, then the verb stays the same: have). We make a question from an answer: “His uncle is very tall.” → “What does his uncle look like?”
Worked examples
I’m Sherzod. There are five of us at home. Dad is strong and has a black beard. Mum has green eyes and a kind smile. My little sister Zarina has long, curly hair. I’m tall for my age.
— How many sisters does Sherzod have? — He has one sister. — What does his dad look like? — He’s strong and he has a black beard.
Class activity
“Family picture”: pupils draw an imaginary family and describe it. A partner draws the picture from the description.
