Explanation
Reasons for liking weather: “I like spring because it’s warm and I can plant flowers.” “I don’t like autumn because it’s rainy and I can’t play outside.” A snowman: “I don’t like warm days because I get smaller and smaller!” In Tashkent the summer is hot and dry: in July and August it is often over 35°. In spring it often rains, and the winter is short and not very cold. Verbs: the temperature rises / falls.
Worked examples
I like autumn because it’s cool and I can go to the mountains. I don’t like windy days because my hair is always in my eyes. My little sister likes summer because she can swim every day.
In August the temperature in Tashkent often rises above 35 degrees. In the evening it falls a little, and people go for walks in the parks.
Class activity
“Weather talk”: two pupils play “Snowman” and “Sun” and praise their weather: “I like ... because ...”.
