New words
rainy · yomg‘irlisunny · quyoshlifoggy · tumanliwindy · shamolli
Explanation
We make weather adjectives by adding -y to a noun: rain → rainy, sun → sunny (n doubles), fog → foggy, ice → icy, wind → windy, cloud → cloudy. In a sentence: “It’s a rainy day.” “It’s an icy day.” (an before a vowel sound). Question: “What kind of day is it?” “What’s the weather like in Andijan?” — “It’s foggy.” Cities: Tashkent, Nukus, Urgench, Bukhara, Samarkand, Andijan, Fergana. In this lesson we describe the weather in different cities using a map.
Worked examples
It’s a sunny day in Bukhara. It’s a foggy day in Andijan. It’s an icy day in Nukus. It’s a windy and cloudy day in Tashkent.
