Where are you from?

Textbook: p. 9
GoalIntroduce yourself: name, age, where you are from and your hobbies; plural forms.
New words
where from · qayerdanlive · yashamoqcity · shaharcountry · mamlakat
Explanation

To say where we come from we use “I’m from + place”: “I’m from Termez.” Question: “Where are you from?” For where we live: “I live in a village / in Samarkand.” At the start of a letter to a friend we introduce ourselves: “Hello! My name’s Rustam. I’m 11. I live in Bukhara. My hobbies are chess and swimming.” Remember: hobby – hobbies (y → ies), subject – subjects (+s). Talking about sports and subjects: “My favourite sports are football and tennis.”
