Explanation

The colours of the rainbow in order: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet. We ask about colour: “What colour is it?” — “It’s green.” Plural: “What colour are they?” — “They are blue.” For whose thing it is, we add ’s to the name: “Nodir’s pen is red.” “The girl’s bag is pink.” For several children: “the boys’ desks” (with s’). A colour comes before the noun like an adjective: a yellow ruler.
