Explanation
We use the Present Simple for habits and regular things. With I, you, we, they the question starts with do: “Do you go to school on Saturday?” Short answer: “Yes, I do.” or “No, I don’t.” (don’t = do not). The verb stays in the base form. When we answer for a group we say we: “Do you have PE today?” — “Yes, we do.” We can add more information: “Do you walk to school?” — “No, I don’t. My dad takes me by car.” In a short yes/no answer we do not repeat the verb, we only say do/don’t.
Worked examples
— Do you have English on Tuesday? — Yes, we do. — Do you sit with your best friend? — Yes, I do. Her name is Laylo.
— Do you do your homework in the evening? — No, I don’t. I do it after lunch. — Do you work hard? — Yes, I do.
