New words
conditional conjunction · shart bog‘lovchisiif · agarprovided that · basharticonditional clause · shart ergash gap
Explanation

Conjunctions such as agar, agarda, basharti are conditional conjunctions. They show that if the condition stated in the subordinate clause is fulfilled, the action in the main clause takes place: Agar yomg‘ir yog‘masa, sayrga chiqamiz (If it does not rain, we will go for a walk). The predicate of a conditional clause is usually a verb in the -sa form. The textbook lists the conjunction garchi in the same group; it gives the sense of “although” (Garchi charchagan bo‘lsa ham, ishni tugatdi — Although tired, he finished the work). When the conditional clause comes before the main clause, a comma is put between them: Agar vaqt bo‘lsa, kelaman (If there is time, I will come).

Worked examples
Agar o‘qisang, bilasan (If you study, you will know) — condition: studying; result: knowing.
Basharti vaqt bo‘lsa, kelaman (Provided there is time, I will come) — basharti: in the sense of “agar”.
