Explanation

A text that makes the features of an object, event or place appear before the eyes is a descriptive text. Descriptive texts use many adjectives, imitative words and comparisons. In retelling such a text, the important features of the description must not be left out. First we find the order of the description: near to far, or general to particular. Then, on the basis of a plan, we retell in our own words, keeping the vividness of the description.

Worked examples
Tong otdi; oltin nurlar tepalikni yaltiratdi (Dawn broke; golden rays made the hill glitter) — a descriptive sentence.
Daraxt shox-shabbasini shamolga tebratib, shitir-shitir qildi (The tree swayed its branches in the wind, rustling).
Class activity
