Coordinating conjunctions
Coordinating conjunctions join homogeneous members, or simple sentences in a compound sentence, that have equal rights — neither is subordinate to the other. By meaning, four kinds are distinguished. Connective conjunctions (va, hamda) add the parts to each other. Disjunctive conjunctions (yo, yoki, goh ... goh) show a choice between the parts or their taking turns. Adversative conjunctions (ammo, lekin, biroq, balki) set the parts against each other, and the negative conjunction (na ... na) denies both parts. In writing, a comma is put before an adversative conjunction and before the second part of a repeated conjunction.
Conjunction train: one pupil starts a sentence, the next continues with a coordinating conjunction, the third names its kind.
