Explanation
A recipe is a sequence of commands. Sequence words connect the steps: first, then, after that, finally. For example: “First take two eggs and mix them with some milk. Then add some flour. After that put some oil in a pan. Finally fry the pancakes for two minutes.” Ingredients: flour, eggs, milk, sugar, salt, oil. English people make pancakes too: Pancake Day falls in February or early March, and some towns hold pancake races, where people run while tossing a pancake in a pan. Pancakes can be eaten with lemon juice, jam or honey.
Worked examples
“Easy pancakes”. First take two eggs and a glass of milk and mix them well. Then add a pinch of salt and one glass of flour. Mix everything until it is smooth. After that heat a little oil in a pan. Pour some mixture into the pan and fry the pancake for a minute on each side. Finally put jam or honey on top and enjoy!
