Explanation

There are 7 continents: Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe and Australia (sometimes called Oceania). Uzbekistan is in Asia, in Central Asia. Location: “Uzbekistan is in Central Asia.” “Kazakhstan is to the north of Uzbekistan.” Neighbours: Kazakhstan in the north and north-west, Kyrgyzstan in the north-east, Tajikistan in the south-east, Afghanistan in the south, Turkmenistan in the south-west. Capitals: Tashkent, Astana, Bishkek, Dushanbe, Ashgabat, Kabul. Question: “What’s the capital of Kyrgyzstan?” — “Bishkek.” No article before the names of countries and cities: in Uzbekistan, in Tashkent.

Worked examples
“Our neighbours”. Uzbekistan is in the centre of Central Asia. To the north there is Kazakhstan, and to the south there is Afghanistan. Turkmenistan is in the south-west, Tajikistan is in the south-east and Kyrgyzstan is in the north-east. The capital of Uzbekistan is Tashkent.
