Explanation

Breakfast is the first meal of the day. Question: “What did you have for breakfast?” Answer: “I had eggs and tea.” or “I ate bread and butter. I drank milk.” Verbs: have – had, eat – ate, drink – drank. In questions use the base form: Did you eat porridge? Breakfast is important because it gives the body vitamins, minerals and energy. From history: long ago people ate porridge-like food for breakfast, and from about the 17th century Europeans began to drink tea or coffee with breakfast. Facts can be judged True or False: “People had porridge thousands of years ago.” — True.

Worked examples
“Breakfast around the world”. In Uzbekistan many families have bread, tea, butter and sometimes an egg for breakfast. In England people often eat toast, eggs or cereal and drink tea. This morning I had porridge with milk and I drank a glass of orange juice. After a good breakfast I have a lot of energy for school!
