Explanation

Words showing the action of a person or thing answer Nima qildi? (What did it do?), Nima qilyapti? (What is it doing?) and Nima qiladi? (What does/will it do?). Nima qildi? — an action that already happened: yozdi (wrote), uchdi (flew). Nima qilyapti? — an action happening now: yozyapti (is writing), uchyapti (is flying). Nima qiladi? — a usual or future action: yozadi (writes), uchadi (flies).

Worked examples
Kecha qush uchdi. (Yesterday the bird flew.) Hozir qush uchyapti. (Now the bird is flying.) Har kuni qush uchadi. (Every day the bird flies.)
suzdi (swam) — suzyapti (is swimming) — suzadi (swims)
Class activity

“Three forms”: a child says an action word (yozmoq); the others say it in three forms and act it out: yozdi (a step back), yozyapti (in place), yozadi (a step forward).
