Explanation
The most important words in a text are called key words (kalit so‘zlar). Just as a key opens a lock, these words open up the meaning of the text. To find them we read the text, ask “What is the text about?” and mark the words that carry the main meaning or are repeated. Key words make it easy to retell the text briefly.
Worked examples
“The bee”. A bee collects nectar from flowers. In its hive it makes sweet honey. In winter honey is food for them. Bees are useful to people too. That is why we must protect them.
Key words: asalari (bee), gul (flower), asal (honey), foyda (benefit).
