Spelling names given to animals

Explanation

Just as people get first names, pets and farm animals are given names too: dogs, cats, cows, horses. The name given to an animal is written with a capital letter: Momiq, Qashqa, Qoplon, Boychibor. The word for the kind of animal (mushuk, ot) is written with a small letter.

Worked examples
Mushukchamning ismi Momiq. (My kitten’s name is Momiq.) Kuchugimizning nomi Qoplon. (Our dog’s name is Qoplon.)
The horse’s name is Boychibor, the cow’s is Malla.
Class activity

“Pet list”: children invent names for animals at home or in their imagination and write them in a table: kind of animal (small letter) — name (capital letter).
