The diminished degree

Textbook: p. 151
GoalForm and write the diminutive degree of the adjective.
New words
diminutive degree · ozaytirma darajaa little · sal-imtir (-ish) · -imtir
Explanation

The form showing that an attribute is below the norm is the diminutive degree. It is formed by putting sal, biroz, picha, nim before the positive adjective: sal sovuq (a bit cold), biroz issiq (somewhat hot), picha achchiq (slightly bitter). From some color adjectives, -(i)mtir and -ish also make the diminutive: ko‘kimtir (bluish), qizg‘ish (reddish), sarg‘ish (yellowish), oqish (whitish). These suffixes are joined to the stem. Nim is also joined to the next word: nimpushti (pale pink). The form shows that the attribute is there but weak.
