Explanation

There are thousands of languages in the world. Each people has its own language, so they greet differently: in Uzbek — Salom, in English — Hello. People first wrote their thoughts with pictures; later letters were invented for sounds. A person who knows many languages is called a polyglot (poliglot). Knowing other languages helps us find new friends.
