Opposite feature words

Textbook: Part 3, topic 19, pp. 70–77
GoalFind feature words with opposite meanings.
New words
opposite · qarama-qarshisweet · shirinbitter, hot · achchiqtall, high · baland
Explanation

Among feature words there are words with opposite meanings. For example, novvot (rock sugar) is shirin (sweet), but garmdori (chilli) is achchiq (hot, bitter). Katta — kichik (big — small), baland — past (tall — low), issiq — sovuq (hot — cold), yaxshi — yomon (good — bad), toza — iflos (clean — dirty), og‘ir — yengil (heavy — light). Opposites help us compare things.

Worked examples
Fil katta, sichqon kichik. (The elephant is big, the mouse is small.) Choy issiq, muzqaymoq sovuq. (Tea is hot, ice cream is cold.)
Baland daraxt — past buta. (A tall tree — a low bush.) Og‘ir tosh — yengil par. (A heavy stone — a light feather.)
Class activity

“Say the opposite”: the teacher says a feature word (uzun — long); children say its opposite (qisqa — short) and make a sentence with both.

Practice

What is the opposite of katta (big)?
2
What is the opposite of issiq (hot)?
3
