Dangers of cyberspace: concessive relations

Concessive relations show that an event happens in spite of an expected obstacle: «Несмотря на усталость, он продолжил работу». In a simple sentence «несмотря на» and «невзирая на» take a noun in the accusative: «несмотря на дождь, невзирая на трудности». In a complex sentence we use «хотя», «несмотря на то что», «пусть»: «Хотя сообщение выглядело убедительно, оно оказалось ложным». The main clause often has «всё же, всё равно, однако». The clause is set off by a comma. Online dangers: fraud, fake news, harassment (cyberbullying), theft of personal data. Protection: tell nobody your password, do not open unknown links, and tell an adult in any suspicious situation.
