Explanation

The Nobel Prize was established in the will of the Swedish chemist and inventor Alfred Nobel (1833–1896) and was first awarded in 1901. Prizes are given in physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, literature and peace; since 1969 there is also a prize in economic sciences. The award ceremony is held every year on 10 December. Project stages: 1) choose a laureate (for example Marie Curie, I. P. Pavlov, I. A. Bunin, L. D. Landau); 2) collect facts from reliable sources; 3) write 6–8 sentences; 4) present. Use this year’s constructions in the text: «который», clauses of time and cause, «чем…, тем…».

Worked examples
Sample text: «Мария Кюри — учёная, которая получила Нобелевскую премию дважды: по физике в 1903 году и по химии в 1911 году. Вместе с мужем она открыла полоний и радий. Её имя знают во всём мире, потому что её открытия изменили науку».
Planning: «1. Выберем лауреата. 2. Найдём факты. 3. Напишем текст. 4. Подготовим слайды».
