Artificial intelligence: «ведь, же», «неужели, разве»

Artificial intelligence (AI) is the field of programs that solve tasks requiring human thinking (recognising speech, translating, playing games); the term was used at the Dartmouth conference in the USA in 1956. «Ведь» reminds us of a known or obvious reason: «Нужно проверить факты: ведь программа может ошибаться». «Же» emphasises or shows sameness: «Я же говорил!», «Скажи же!», «тот же». «Неужели» shows disbelief and surprise: «Неужели робот сочинил эту музыку?». «Разве» shows doubt and objection: «Разве можно верить всему, что пишет программа?». The particles themselves are not set off by commas; but a reason part beginning with «ведь» is separated by a comma as in any compound sentence: «Возьми зонт, ведь идёт дождь».
