Adverb-building suffixes

Textbook: p. 179
GoalKnow and spell adverb-forming suffixes.
New words
-cha (in the manner of) · -cha-lab (for) · -lab-ona (in a way) · -ona
Explanation

The suffixes -cha, -lab, -larcha, -ona, -an, -chasiga join nouns and adjectives and form adverbs. -cha shows likeness or manner: o‘zbekcha (in Uzbek), eskicha (in the old way), qahramoncha (heroically). -lab, -larcha show time or quantity: kechalab (for nights), kunlab (for days), yillab (for years); soatlarcha (for hours). -ona turns an adjective into manner: do‘stona (in a friendly way), mardona (bravely). -an is formed from Arabic words: tasodifan (by chance), rasman (officially). -chasiga also shows manner: o‘zbekchasiga. These suffixes are joined to the base. In some adverbs -dan, -ga, -da, -(s)i have fused with the base and become inseparable: qo‘qqisdan (suddenly), ertaga (tomorrow), ichkarida (inside), kechasi (at night).
