Explanation

An auxiliary verb attaches to an adverbial participle and loses its own meaning (yozib yubordi). In a compound verb both parts keep their meaning and are written separately (sayr etmoq, olib kelmoq). A paired verb consists of two verbs, is hyphenated and shows a quick, unexpected action (oldi-qo‘ydi). A repeated verb arises from repeating one stem (kuta-kuta). A simple verb consists of one stem: root (yurmoq) or derived (shodlanmoq). Spelling: o‘yna, pasay, shovulla.

Worked examples
“Dars tugadi-qoldi” — paired verb; “dars tugab qoldi” — auxiliary construction.
Yaxshilamoq — simple derived; sayr qilmoq — compound; bordi-keldi — paired or a noun.
Class activity
