New words
customer · xaridorsales assistant · sotuvchisoum · so‘mbought · sotib oldi
Explanation

In the project the classroom becomes a shop: one group are sales assistants and the other are customers. Sales assistants advertise their goods: “Come here! Look at my apples. They are the best apples in town!” Customers say what and how much they want and ask the price: “How much are the apples?” Afterwards they report: “I bought two kilos of apples and a bar of chocolate.” Bought is the Past Simple of buy (irregular): buy – bought. Prices: “That’s 5,000 soums.” The money is the soum. Assistant’s report: “I sold three kilos of sausages.” (sell – sold).

Worked examples
“At the shop”. The sales assistant shouts: “Come here! Fresh bread! The best bread in town!” Dilya buys a loaf of bread, a bottle of milk and a jar of honey. She pays six thousand soums. After school she tells her friend: “I bought a loaf of bread, a bottle of milk and a jar of honey. They were not expensive!”
— How much are the grapes? — They’re 8,000 soums a kilo. — Two kilos, please. — That’s 16,000 soums.
