New words
pyramid · piramidaa lot · ko‘pa little · ozginacereals · donli ekinlar
Explanation
A food pyramid shows how much of each food we should eat. At the bottom (the base) are foods to eat a lot of: bread, rice, cereals, vegetables and fruit. In the middle are foods to eat in medium amounts: dairy products, meat, fish, eggs. At the top are foods to eat only a little: sweets, fat, chips. Sentences: “We should eat vegetables a lot.” “We shouldn’t eat much meat.” “We should eat sweets only a little.” Question: “How much should we eat?” Advice to another person: “You should eat cereal a lot.” Experts advise eating more vegetables and fruit and less red meat.
Worked examples
“My pyramid”. My food pyramid has three levels. At the bottom there are bread, rice, vegetables and fruit; I eat them a lot. In the middle there are milk, eggs, fish and meat; I don’t eat a lot of them. At the top there are sweets and chips; I eat them only a little, because they are not healthy.
— I eat cereal a little. — You should eat cereal a lot.
