Explanation

A computer, like any electrical appliance, runs on electric current, so it must be handled carefully. You enter the computer room only with the teacher’s permission and do only the task the teacher gives. While the computer is on, do not touch cables, sockets or plugs, and do not bring food or drinks into the room. Do not change settings on your own or break equipment; if something goes wrong, tell the teacher at once. For your health, sit with a straight back, keep about 50–60 cm between your eyes and the screen, do not work for more than a couple of hours a day, and rest your eyes every 20 minutes. Washing your hands with soap after work is a good habit too.

Worked examples
While working, Dilnoza noticed a loose cable behind the monitor. She did not touch it but raised her hand and called the teacher. This follows the rule about not touching cables and the rule to report problems to the teacher.
The lesson lasts 40 minutes. Every 20 minutes Bobur looks far away through the window to rest his eyes, blinks, and gently turns his head as an exercise.
Class activity

“Right or wrong?” game: the teacher shows a situation (bringing in a drink, slouching, raising a hand to ask). Pupils answer “right” (raise a hand) or “wrong” (shake the head) and say why.

About how many centimetres should there be between your eyes and the monitor?
3
Why must you not touch cables and sockets while the computer is on?
4
You see a classmate drinking water next to the computer. What do you do?
