Explanation

Many sport names are made by adding “-ing” to a verb: fish → fishing, sail → sailing, ski → skiing. We usually use “go” with them: “go fishing”, “go skiing”, “go sailing”. Bowling is also “go bowling”. Question: “Do you like skiing?” – “Yes, I do.” / “No, I don’t.” Safety: do sports on water, snow or ice only with an adult and the right protection (helmet, life jacket).

Worked examples
I like kayaking, but my brother likes mountain biking.
We go fishing with Grandpa on Sundays.
Class activity

“Mime”: a child acts out a sport silently (for example paddling), the class asks “Is it kayaking?” The child who guesses mimes the next one.
