Explanation
Many weather adjectives are made by adding “-y” to a noun: sun → sunny (n doubles), cloud → cloudy, wind → windy, rain → rainy, snow → snowy, fog → foggy (g doubles). To ask: “What’s the weather like?” Answer: “It’s sunny and hot.” We can join two adjectives with “and”: “It’s cold and snowy.” In weather sentences the subject is always “it”. Between hot and cold is “warm”. In Tashkent summers are often hot and sunny, and winters are cold.
Worked examples
