Explanation

On page 103 the Unit 7 chant practices the question “Were you at home last night?” with “Yes, I was. / No, I wasn’t.”, and the Unit 8 chant practices “Was it hot and sunny on Monday?” with “Yes, it was. / No, it wasn’t.” We make our own chant. Plan: a question line, two answers and a rhyming line. Clap the rhythm and perform on a stage with your group. This is the last chant of the school year: be proud of what you know!

Worked examples
Were you at the park? Yes, I was! Was it sunny? Yes, it was!
Was it cold on Monday? No, it wasn’t. It was warm and sunny, and I wasn’t at home!
Class activity
