Explanation

Plants are very useful to us. Fabric: thread and cloth are made from the cotton plant – Uzbek cotton is famous. Fuel: dry wood gives heat (only adults make fires). Medicine: some medicines come from plants, such as rose hip or chamomile, but only a doctor or an adult gives medicine; never eat unknown plants. Food: fruit, vegetables, grain. Paper: it is made from tree wood. Sentence: “We make fabric from cotton.” “We use wood for paper.”

Worked examples
We use cotton for fabric. We use wood for fuel and paper.
Some medicines come from plants, but we never taste unknown plants.
Class activity

“Plant poster”: a group picks a plant (cotton, tree, wheat) and draws what we get from it, labeling it in English.
