CLIL Science: where does water come from?

Textbook: pp. 66–67
GoalWhere does water come from: rain, glacier, well, spring.
New words
rain · yomg‘irglacier · muzlikwell · quduqspring · buloq
Explanation

We get water from rivers, wells and springs. Rain falls from clouds as drops. A glacier is a huge mass of ice in the mountains; as it melts it feeds rivers (the Amu Darya and Syr Darya get water from mountain snow and glaciers). A well is a hole dug in the ground. A spring is water that comes out of the ground by itself. The water cycle: the sun warms water, it rises, becomes drops in a cloud and falls as rain. Save water: turn off the tap while you brush your teeth. A large part of our body is water – the book says so too.

Worked examples
Rain comes from clouds. A well is a deep hole for water.
A spring is water that comes out of the ground.
