Reading and speaking: what activities do you do with your friends?

Textbook: p. 9
GoalRead a short text about friends and activities and answer questions.
New words
best friend · eng yaqin do‘sttogether · birgalesson · dars (mashg‘ulot)every Friday · har juma
Explanation

The book has a text about three friends. We read our own text. First look at the title and the questions, then read. Look for key words to find the answers: names (Who?), days (When?), activities (What?). Before days of the week we use “on”: “on Fridays”.

Worked examples
“My best friend”. My best friend is Bobur. He is tall and he has short dark hair. He lives next door, and we walk to school together every morning. On Fridays we go to the chess club. Bobur plays chess very well, and he often wins. I always lose, but I like the game! I help him with his English homework. We are a good team.
Class activity

“My friend”: each child answers 4 questions about a friend (name, looks, likes, which day they play together) and reads the answers to the class.
