CLIL Science: what animal group is it?

Textbook: pp. 54–55
GoalSort animals into groups: mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish.
New words
mammals · sutemizuvchilarreptiles · sudralib yuruvchilaramphibians · amfibiyalar (ham quruqlikda, ham suvda)fish · baliqlar
Explanation

Animal groups and their signs: Mammals have fur or hair and feed babies milk (bears, bats). Birds have feathers and lay eggs; most fly (parrots, owls, penguins). Reptiles have dry scaly skin and lay eggs (snakes, turtles, crocodiles). Amphibians have damp skin and live on land and in water (frogs). Fish live in water, breathe with gills and have scales. Sentence: “A frog is an amphibian. It can live on land and in water.” Remember: a bat is a mammal; a penguin is a bird.

Worked examples
A snake is a reptile. It has dry scaly skin.
A bat is a mammal, not a bird, because it has fur and feeds its babies milk.
Class activity

“Sort the animals”: cards show ten animals. The group sorts them into five groups on a poster and writes a sentence for each: “A frog is an amphibian.”
