Textbook: pp. 44–45

Explanation

Every product passes through the hands of many workers. For example, bread. A farmer grows wheat in a field (outdoors work). A factory makes flour and a bakery bakes the bread (factory work). A truck carries bread to the shop (transportation work). A shop assistant sells it (store work). This chain is “from the field to the store”. Which work do you like? “I think outdoors work is healthy.”

Worked examples
A farmer does outdoors work. A bus driver does transportation work.
Factory workers make flour. A shop assistant works in a store.
Class activity

“Build a chain”: in four groups, children write a work chain for one product (bread, milk, cotton T-shirt) on cards and make a poster.
