Chants: Welcome back! and Units 1–2

Explanation

On page 102 the book has chants for Welcome back!, Unit 1 and Unit 2: counting by tens, “Are you good at …?” and giving directions. We make our own chants. Rules: four beats in every line (clap them), and rhyme the last words. One group says the question and another group answers. Repeating helps us remember the language.

Class activity

“Chant studio”: each group writes a four-line chant (question and answer), says it with rhythm and performs it. The class claps along.
