Textbook: Part 4, topic 25, pp. 48–59
GoalGive a text a fitting title.
New words
title · sarlavhamain idea · asosiy fikrfitting · mosshort · qisqa
Explanation
A text can have a title. A title says briefly what the text is about. To find it we ask “Who or what is the text about?” A title starts with a capital letter and has no full stop at the end. A good title is short and fits the content.
Worked examples
Text: In spring flowers open in the garden. A bee lands on a flower. Children read books in the garden. Title: “Spring in the garden”.
Choosing a title: for the text “Aquarium”, “Fish in the classroom” also fits.
Class activity
“Title masters”: groups get a short text. Each group invents three titles and the class votes for the best one.
