Explanation
Analysing a subordinate composite sentence follows a set order. In the first step we find the predicates and separate the parts of the sentence. In the second we identify the main and subordinate clauses by asking the main clause “why?”, “when?”, “under what condition?”. In the third we find the means linking the subordinate to the main clause – conjunction, construction, -ki, correlative word, deb or the conditional mood. In the fourth we name the relation of meaning (reason, purpose, condition and so on). Finally we explain the punctuation and draw the pattern: [subordinate], [main] or [main], [subordinate]. For a complete analysis we write each step with a short answer.
Sentence: Juda charchadim, shuning uchun erta yotdim. 1) predicates: charchadim, yotdim; 2) subordinate: Juda charchadim; main: shuning uchun erta yotdim; 3) means: shuning uchun; 4) meaning: reason; 5) comma; pattern: [subordinate], shuning uchun [main].
Class activity
“Analysis chain”: the class forms five groups; each does one step and passes the result to the next.
