Explanation

A word combination is formed when two or more independent words join by dependent connection, and it always consists of a head word and a dependent word: “yangi kitob” (kitob – head, yangi – dependent). Parts of the sentence divide into the main parts – subject (ega) and predicate (kesim) – and the secondary parts – attribute (aniqlovchi), object (to‘ldiruvchi) and adverbial (hol). The subject answers kim? nima? (who? what?), while the predicate answers what did it do? what is it like? and is the centre of the sentence. An attribute shows a feature of a thing, an object the thing the action passes to, and an adverbial the place, time, reason or manner of the action. In analysis we find the predicate first, then the subject, then the other parts by questions.

Worked examples
Mehribon ustoz bolalarga qiziqarli kitobni berdi. – subject: ustoz; attributes: mehribon, qiziqarli; objects: bolalarga, kitobni; predicate: berdi.
Kuzda dalalar tezda bo‘shab qoldi. – adverbials: kuzda (time), tezda (manner); subject: dalalar; predicate: bo‘shab qoldi.
