Subordinate composite sentences with postpositional constructions

Textbook: pp. 48–49
GoalAnalyse subordinate composite sentences linked by postpositional constructions (shuning uchun, shu sababli, shu tufayli).
New words
for that reason · shuning uchunbecause of this · shu sabablithanks to this · shu tufayliclause of reason · sabab ergash gap
Explanation

Sometimes the reason is said first and the result begins with a postpositional construction such as “shuning uchun”, “shu sababli”, “shu tufayli”. By the textbook’s rule, this construction stands inside the main clause, while the clause of reason usually comes before the main clause and they are separated by a comma: “Yo‘lni qor bosdi, shuning uchun poyezd kechikdi”. Here “Yo‘lni qor bosdi” is the subordinate clause (reason) and “shuning uchun poyezd kechikdi” is the main clause. The same content can be said with “chunki”, but then the order changes: “Poyezd kechikdi, chunki yo‘lni qor bosdi”. The three constructions are close in meaning and are often used in place of each other. Note: some grammars call the “shuning uchun” part a “result clause” (natija ergash gap); this course follows the textbook: the “shuning uchun” part is the main clause and the part stating the reason is the subordinate clause.

Worked examples
