Explanation

The verb form specialized for the noun is called the verbal noun. It is made by adding -(i)sh, -(u)v, -moq to verb stems: o‘qimoq, o‘qish, o‘quv. The verbal noun names an action like a noun, so it takes possessive, case and plural suffixes like a noun and serves as the sentence parts a noun can: Chiroyli yozishni o‘rgan! (Learn to write beautifully! — yozishni is an object). Yozuving yomon emas (Your handwriting is not bad — yozuving is the subject, -ing is possessive). O‘qish — ma’rifat (Reading is enlightenment — subject).
