GoalLesson rules project: 10 rules with “must / mustn’t” and a poster.
New words
rule · qoidaposter · plakatactive · faolbe late · kech qolmoq
Explanation
Project: a group writes 10 rules for a lesson and makes a poster. Must says what is necessary: “We must listen to the teacher.” “We must do our homework.” Mustn’t says what is forbidden: “We mustn’t eat in the lesson.” “We mustn’t be late.” You can also use commands: “Be polite.” “Don’t draw on the desk.” Use a two-column table: must and mustn’t. Draw pictures on the poster and keep each rule short. In the presentation say: “Our first rule is: we must be active.” Then discuss as a class: which rule is the most important?
Worked examples
“Our lesson rules”. In our class we must listen to the teacher and help each other. We must have a pen and a pencil, and we must do our homework. We mustn’t be late, and we mustn’t sleep or eat in the lesson. We mustn’t draw on the desks. If we follow the rules, our lessons are interesting and friendly.
— Must we bring a dictionary? — Yes, we must. — Can we use phones in the lesson? — No, we can’t. We mustn’t use phones in the lesson.
