Explanation
Project: make your own timeline (last summer, September, October, November) and write four sentences. Past time words: last summer, last year, last week, yesterday, in September, in 2023. Sentences: “Last summer I went to Samarkand.” “In October I visited my grandparents.” In a group ask: “What happened last summer?” — “I went to the mountains.” To compare: “Shuhrat’s birthday is on the 5th of May and mine is on the 14th of June.” Everything is in the Past Simple: went, visited, got, played. Report: “Most pupils in our group went to the countryside last summer.”
Worked examples
“My timeline”. Last summer I went to Samarkand with my family. In September I started Grade 6. In October I visited my grandparents and helped in the garden. In November I got a new bike for my birthday. It was a great autumn!
— What happened last summer? — I went to the mountains. — Did you like it? — Yes, I did. It was beautiful.
Class activity
“Group report”: in groups of 4–5 fill in a table (“Who went to the mountains last summer?”) and then report the results.

Why “Last summer I went” and not “Last summer I go”?
Last summer points to the past, so we need the Past Simple.
