Explanation
What we do on a birthday: “I have a birthday party. I get presents and cards. We eat cake and sing ‘Happy Birthday’.” Question: “What do you have on your birthday?” Who a present is for: “The football is for my friend because he likes playing football.” (for + person). Parts of an invitation: 1) Dear …; 2) Please come to my birthday party; 3) date (on Saturday, the 5th of May), time (at 5.30 p.m.), place (at my house); 4) Hope you can come; 5) your name. Use on with days and at with times. P.S. adds extra information.
