Explanation
Review. A dictionary is a book of explained words in alphabetical order. The spelling dictionary shows correct writing, the explanatory one meaning, the translation one the form in another language. There are also dictionaries of synonyms, antonyms, homonyms and paronyms; specialised term dictionaries (history, economics, medicine) explain their terms. In the explanatory dictionary the origin is shown in square brackets and the senses are numbered. Verbs are given in the -moq form. Mahmud Kashgari’s «Devonu lug‘otit turk» is an ancient dictionary of the Turkic languages.
