Explanation

To comment on a wise saying, state its content in your own words, find what the author meant and give an example from life. For instance, Navoiy’s saying «Tilga ixtiyorsiz — elga e’tiborsiz» says that a person who speaks without thinking and cannot hold his tongue finds no respect among people: everyone listens to someone who weighs his words. Avloniy compared language and literature to a nation’s mirror: a people who protect their language keep their place in the world. When using a wise saying in speech, put it in quotation marks and name the author. A proverb is quoted without an author.
