Explanation

Portfolio is an English word meaning a folder or case for documents. It collects a person’s achievements over a period, certificates and creative work. An electronic portfolio in Word can have several pages: a title page, “About me”, “My school”, “My achievements”, “My interests”, “My plans”. The stages of a project are: make a plan, collect materials, create and decorate the pages, check for mistakes, present. Agree first with your teacher and parents, and include only what is needed. Do not write your home address, phone number, ID number or passwords in a portfolio, especially if it will be sent over the internet or shared. Photos of other people need their permission.

Worked examples
Madina’s portfolio plan: 1) title page; 2) About me (name, age, favourite subjects); 3) My achievements (olympiad certificate, art contest); 4) My interests; 5) My plans. She does not write her address or phone.
Time for the portfolio: 5 pages, 20 minutes each. In all 5 × 20 = 100 minutes, that is 1 hour 40 minutes.
Class activity

“Portfolio showcase”: each pupil presents one page of their portfolio in one minute; the class gives one good point and one suggestion.
