Explanation

By structure adjectives are simple, compound, paired or repeated. An adjective made of one base is simple. A simple adjective can be root or derived: katta, oq, yosh are root; aqlli, ilmiy, kuchsiz are derived. In both cases there is one base, so both are simple. Adding a suffix such as -li or -siz to one base does not create a second base. Compound, paired and repeated adjectives are made of two bases.

Worked examples
