The future tense of the verb

Explanation
The verb in the future tense (будущее время) answers «что будет делать? что сделает?». For a repeated or long action we use the compound form: «буду, будешь, будет, будем, будете, будут» + infinitive: «буду читать, будешь читать». For an action finished once we use the simple form: «покажу, покажешь, покажет, покажем, покажете, покажут» (question «что сделаю?»). The simple form takes the same endings as the present: «посмотрю, посмотришь, посмотрит». «Буду» goes with an infinitive in «-ть»; we never say «буду прочитаю». Time words: «сейчас, вчера, позавчера, сегодня, завтра, послезавтра, скоро, потом».
Worked examples
“Планы на завтра” (Plans for tomorrow). «Завтра я буду учить стихотворение. Потом я позвоню, и мы пойдём в парк. Мама приготовит обед, а папа купит арбуз. Вечером мы будем смотреть фильм. Послезавтра будут каникулы!» (Tomorrow I will learn a poem. Then I will phone and we will go to the park. Mum will cook lunch and Dad will buy a watermelon. In the evening we will watch a film. The day after tomorrow the holidays begin!)

“Plans for tomorrow”. Each pupil says 3 plans for tomorrow: two with «буду + infinitive» and one with a simple form like «сделаю».
